Virtual Product Email with Download link not sent when the order is completed

Hi,

 

My customers cannot receive the downloadable product link through email. I have found out that this issue persisted in the previous versions but no help is given for V1.5.6.2. Is there anyone who can rectify this or at least guide me to the right direction to resolve this issue. I have asked this question couple of times in last 2-3 weeks but no one has responded. Is there any way this can be resolved because I cannot email the download products manually to the customers everytime and since products can be time sensitive, I need a better solution.

Just to follow up on this topic, I assisted the OP in locating and correcting the issues that were preventing the emails from being sent.  The issues were related to customizations (overrides) that were implemented on this particular store.
