verify db

Hi,
I use as hosting provider hostmonster.com which support php 5 so I upload the prestashop I create a database I named it prestashop I create a user as root I create pass for the db and then I try to verify the db I send as info the following

db servername fXXXX@localhost
db fXXXX_prestashop
login root
pass *******

and then I receive
Database server was not found. Please verify the login, password, and database server name fields.

advice me please
