facebook block module link problem

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am having a problem with the facebook block module.  When I try to change the link it is not working right.  I can change it to any big business facebook page with no problem.  The problem is when I try to change it to a small business facebook page or an individual's facebook page.  I get no link or pic on those.  On the other hand the large business put up their own pic and the link is there.  Is there something simple I am missing?  All I get with the small business page I want or with any individual pages I try is the follow us on facebook line then a blank drop down menu.  The menu has an up or down arrow but nothing listed.  There is no link or picture.  I have been trying to figure this out but am stuck.  Does anyone have any suggestions for me.  I am hoping is is something simple I am overlooking.  Thanks for any help you can give.

Thanks, I already did that.  I uninstalled and reinistalled the module.  If I input any big company like sears or home depot or basically any you can think of it works just fine.  It is only when I try to put in an individual's facebook page or the small business facebook page I am actually wanting that there is a problem.  I have been wondering if it is something at the facebook end that needs to be done but I can't find anything there that seems relevant.  So it has been frustrating.  I am thinking of just uninstalling the whole module and just puting in my own faceook link which probably would be easier.  Its just that I like to get things working right so it bothers me to just give up.  May have to but I am going to give fixing it my best shot first.

Like you if I try other bigger sites it shows up fine but just not with my own.

I am wondering if sometiing in Facebook needs to be enabled to allow for this to show up properly.

Hi

Have you 'published' your Facebook page?

Published Pages are visible to the public. Unpublished Pages are only visible to the people who manage the Page.

  1. At the top of your Facebook Page, click Edit Page
  2. Select Edit Settings
  3. Select Page Visibility
  4. Select Edit
  5. Click checkbox next to Publish (or Unpublish) Page
  6. Click Save Changes

You have to be an admin to edit this setting.

Regards

It could be that simple.  Just checked a couple and neither one had a published page.  Will be checking with my client later today about his facebook account.  I am thinking you are right about the published page criteria.

Thanks and I will update after I get with my client and get his page working.

Thanks,

it doesn't mean that those several aren't published.

I tried my own page which certainly is published (both of them) and have the same result - zero.

But when I tried MyPresta or other well known companies, it worked.

What's funny that I can see my Facebook links when, at the same time, I'm logged in on Facebook.
