renier8
Hi everyone, I am trying to modify my category header images. Please have a look at the screenshot attached. I can work with the blue area, but there is a grey block to the right of the image. I have tried to increase the image width, but the grey block remains. Ideally I would like to work with the whole space as outlined in green, but even if I could just have the blue area, it would be fine. I just don't want the grey block. Unless I can edit the grey block somewhere. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Renier
dioniz
You need image in this dimensions: 870px width 217px height
vekia
when you're uploading image pictures it must be proportional to 870 x 217 if it will not be proportional - you will see gray boxes like you've got.
renier8
Hi guys, I have tried this. And I have tried many other sizes. The grey boxes remain. My image only gets resized according to the space left of the grey box. Any ideas?

vekia
you removed one column from category pages, this is why it's too big. now your cateogry images must have at least 1170px width
renier8
Thanks Vekia, But have tried to make the image wider. All it does, is to resize the image smaller to fit into the current position. The grey box remains. What column did I remove, and how do I get it back?
dioniz
Your images are 870px You removed left column with blocks. You can turn it on in Preferences > Themes
renier8
Hi guys, I am still struggling. This is the current setting in Themes.(default boot-strap). See image attached. I am not sure what to do. When I click on the red cross by categories, I get an error on the screen about "updating this meta". I am not sure if I am in the right place. Your further assistance would be greatly appreciated. prestamax
Your category image is 870px x 217 only you need to upload an larger image as vekia already said. Min-width 1170px.If you enable the sidebar in your themesettings the category image would have the correct size and the sidebar would replace the grey area. What are your default sidebar settings in the theme? Try to change the default settings and see if the error will dissappear. renier8
Thanks guys. Even if I add a new wider image, I get the same problem. Vekia - I am on 1.6.0.5. Do you think if I upgrade it will make a difference? I am not good with all that SQL stuff you talked about in the other article. If I give you access - do you think you could have a look at this for me? I would appreciate it.
