problem in installation

i recieved this message:

Directory has no index file.
Browsing this site or directory without an index file is prohibited.
If you are the site's webmaster, you can remedy this problem by creating a default HTML page with one of the following names:


index.html
index.htm
default.htm
Default.htm
home.html
Home.chtml
NOTE: Filenames are case sensitive, i.e., Home.html is not the same as home.html


any body can help??

i deleted the .htaccess file and got the following message:
"The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log.
"

any help about what should i type in this file.

Note: this is my servar information:

MySQL Version 5.0.45

Perl Version
Perl 5.8.8

PHP Version
PHP 5.2.2
