Quick Search Module position problem

Hi all, prety new in the prestashop world and already got my self into trouble...

 

Followed this topic trying to get the quick search block moved from it's default position in the center(when in catalog mode) to the right. Saved the original blocksearch.css file, changed the "top" and "right" values in a copy, put it in place, cleared cache  and nothing happen, no change whatsoever. Tried again, changed the values from % to a px for the "top" value, uploaded, clear cache - still nothing. Then noticed there was a "reset" option for the module in the module menu, reset it and the block moved, unfortunately not where I was planning. Uploaded back the original untouched blocksearch.css, reset the module, cleared the cache - the module stayed where it moved. Tried uninstalling it, deleting it, installing previous version of it (1.3) then updating, unhooking and reinstalling - nothing helped, the block stayed where it moved. Please advise what could have changed in order to keep the block in this odd place. Here is a link to my shop . The ultimate goal is to get it in the right under the sign-in and language bar.

 

Activated the " Top horizontal menu" search box - its position is good, unfortunately there is a strange line right of it - on the edge of the THM, which appears only when the search box is activated. Furthermore, there is no "search sign" or any indication that this is a search box. I havent made any changes. Tried to uninstall and reinstall - didnt helped. How could I get the "search" sign or text in there?
