uvip
I am wondering which version is the final version of 1.4? I am currently using 1.473 and we have an issue when customers putting more than 1000 items into shopping cart, the cart is becoming very slow and got 500 internal server error in the end. So I am wondering if an upgrade will solve this issue? and which version should we upgrade to? Thanks a lot!
bellini13
1.4.11 is the latest version, but I highly doubt upgrading will resolve your issue. It is a simple test really, just install a new test store with any version, add 1000 items to the cart and see how it responds.

It is a simple test really, just install a new test store with any version, add 1000 items to the cart and see how it responds. The reason I want to have an upgrade is that I read about this:http://www.prestashop.com/blog/en/upgrade-your-online-store-to-prestashop-v1-4-9/ So according to your knowledge an upgrade will not help? Is this a prestashop limit? If yes, should we limit the numbers of products a customer can add to cart before he used up all of the resource and see the 500 internal server error? If there is this function, how to set the numbers of products a customer can put into his cart then? Any suggestions are welcomed!!! Especially from Prestashop team!!! bellini13
its hard to say what is causing the 500 error with the information you have provided. you should work with your host to determine the exact reason for the 500 error, and see if that is something you can resolve with your hosting environment. if you are receiving a 500 error because you ran out of memory, then try increasing the memory allocated to the php process. otherwise once you determine the exact reason for the failure, then we can go from there. I'm not aware of a configuration setting to limit the number of products in the cart, but you can always edit/override the CartController to add your custom limitation. Rolige
1.4.9 or 1.4.11?, is easy, 1.4.9 is good and 1.4.11 include all from 1.4.9 and more improvements, 1.4.11 is a better option. About the error 500, this happens in some servers when you exceed the limit of running processes, I guess the upgrade is not an option maybe you need upgrade your server, but you can test with a new fresh install on PS 1.4.11 My suggestion is, if you are thinking on upgrade, you should think in upgrade to PS 1.
