Admin mail alerts for new orders

Hi I am running prestashop 1.6.0.5.  I recently upgraded from 1.4.x.

 

I've received a few orders since setting up my new store and I have noticed that I have not received a notification from the website that the order has been placed.

 

I am finding my orders through paypal's automated email notification of payment received but nothing from my store.

 

I checked and I have the mail alerts setup with en email to the admin turned on.  I've tested the email config and recieved the test email and have also received email from the contact form.

 

Is there something I can do to help test the admin email for order notification?

I am using PayPal USA, Canada v1.3.3 - by PrestaShop with standard and express checkout modules being used.  Paypal is the only form of payment I accept.

 

When I tested it myself, I did receive the a  buy confirmation but no admin notification of an order being placed.
