Which tables need to update for custom product import

Hi i've tried to import with no sucess my .csv file.I've build a custom hardcoded .php script that populates the product and the product_lang tables for a start!!so it only pass data to those 2 tables and that's it.It does not do anything else!
Now although i can import them correctly and data can be found at database!!!!every table has 256 records ( the total of the products imported ) .So when i go to admin-panel and although the tables are populated with my DATA. . . prestashop informs me that i have NO products inside my shop!!!!Obviously i'm doing something wrong or need extra data /parameters to be passed and somewhere else!!!Could you please help me out here?
Plus how do i hardcode to upload images to?
p.s : I've tried almost everything with the import module but prestashop's built in module needs fix . . . when i upload 'greek' characters converted to utf-8 it spits out ufo-language-chars! So plz if you know comment only which tables to edit .Thank you.Sorry if it sounds polite , but i'm in a hurry that's why.
