Sparkz Posted April 30, 2014 Share Posted April 30, 2014 Hi all, I require assistance in the best method and maybe some direction on validating users that by law need to be over 18 to purchase items. I have looked around and there are few ways of doing this; Homepage Age Verification -> access when age is over 18 Manual Account Verification -> Admin to make account active when proof of age has been provided Credit Card Verification -> account to be check with a credit card to confirm age. Setting items to check age before purchase -> stop users checking out with over 18 goods Now I believe the best method is the Manual Account/Credit Card Verification based on the understand that when selling goods on the internet, a user would have to prove that they where over 18 rather than just stating they are.. as most people know anyone can put an over 18 date of birth in to a form. So firstly am I correct? does anyone have any other thoughts based on this? Secondly if I am correct how do I go about making the account inactive until confirmed by an admin?
