Hi El Patron

Thank you for your reply.

It doesn't show at all under the modules screen, just under the payment screen.

but you could configure api credentials after you 'installed'  the module?

I suppose delete it and try installing again.

I have tried re-installing several times but still get the same end result.

The module doesn't show at all under the modules screen, just under the payment screen. The only option here is delete, so there is no way to configure.

All suggestions greatly appreciated.

I'd open a forge report, maybe you found a bug that no one else has reported or we can't find.

You can do this here: http://forge.prestashop.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa

if in a hurry, post i job offerings for someone to fix for you, my understanding is quick fix for very little money.  This assuming you don't want to wait...for fruit falling out of the tree.

last ditch tips:  (make sure no cache is running under advanced-->performance), and that smart recompile is set to 'if updated' and not 'never'.

Thanks El Patron.

Could it be that Paypal Europe doesn't work in the UK? I had another read through the page at http://addons.prestashop.com/en/payments-gateways-prestashop-modules/1748-paypal.html and strangely UK isn't listed as one of the European countries.

Hi, we use the PayPal EU module and I can confirm this works ok for us and we are in the UK.

Regarding the install issue, I would suggest (if not already tried) that the module is uploaded via FTP rather than via the BO and test that way?

Just a thought!

Hi Cat999. Thanks for the tip, I will try via ftp and see what happens.

Great to hear that it does work for UK despite being not listed in the countries. I guess that must just be an oversight by the module developers.

I will report back shortly and let you know if it worked.

Success! I have uploaded via ftp and changed the permissions. Now when I go to >modules >modules >payments and gateways it is there if I sort by modules not installed via the dropdown.

I am now able to install and configure... yay!

Thanks to everyone for your help.

A couple of notes for anyone else that gets confused while trying to get paypal working for UK...

1. Prestashop says it comes with paypal module built in. It doesn't (or at least my version 1.6 didn't), so you will need to download the module from here... http://addons.prestashop.com/en/payments-gateways-prestashop-modules/1748-paypal.html and install it yourself.

2. The download page lists the European countries that the module works with. UK isn't listed, which I found very confusing. However I confirm that it does work for UK sellers.

It doesn't fully work though ?

My PayPal module won't redirect my customers from the payment page BACK to my shop, instead it leaves them on a blank page and when they refresh they get the common error that's been listed on here

anytime you receive blank page, then  you want to get the underlying error, then you can search on that for possible solution

I went ahead and turned on sandbox mode, set up the Test API and proceeded with checkout as per normal, again it seems everything is going as it should apart from the redirect from paypal -> my shop.

I've turned on the logs in php.ini AND on the presta DEFINE script, anyways...I'm not getting any logs for this apart from one that occurred in chrome

The web page athttps://www.brightbusinessuk.co.uk/shop/modules/paypal/express_checkout/payment.php?token=EC-003382250R011710U&PayerID=22WZ4BGYRWFY4has resulted in too many redirects. Ask your host to increase the number of redirects that your site can have, once too many redirects are done on a server, the serrver throws an error, it could be that your host is allowing a low number of redirects.

I have, they said there is no limit to the redirects on my website.

Could this have anything to do with SSL ? I've made sure that my shop was installed into the public_html (avoiding any redirects from original domain to sub directory).

I've even regenerated my .htaccess and checked permissions, database directories/paths and everything seems to be absolutely fine. I went ahead and removed my paypal module and tried using 3.4.5 instead, even this brings back the same error (take into account this is sandbox mode).

API credentials are all correct aswell (or i would not even get to paypay OR i'd get the error 500 , blank page).

Any ideas? I've tried searching 310 error but even if the topic is noted as SOLVED, the posters never added a solution (kind fucking selfish really).

As for response from the creators of this god aweful module , well i'm having no luck (they just state the obvious which is NOWHERE close to my issues).

Please can someone one on one this with me (im willing to set up an admin account for whom can help).
