rcb
Hi all - I am looking for a shopping cart system for use on my existing website, and I'm trying to decide if PrestaShop will do what I need. While I want the back-end database functionality, and the whole shopping cart system, I absolutely will not use a standardized front-end theme. Until last year, I used Google Checkout Buy It Now buttons on some of our item pages, and this worked okay, but was minimal, and did not actually provide a shopping cart for purchase of multiple items. What I'm hoping is that this system will let me set up my catalog/inventory back end, then provide code snippets for each item, customizable with options (color, size, price variants) which can be displayed in drop-down menus, but keep these snippets tiny, and give me all the API documentation to customize them out to perfection. Once that was set up, I would also need a code snippet (to place on the page where I feel like, and to customize for looks as I wish) which would show the number of items in the customer's cart and provide a link to the cart and to check out. NOTHING else on the front end of the site, before you click through to view your cart, should be designed by anyone but me. I'm not afraid of programming, and can handle HTML, CSS, PHP, and javascript to get this going right, if the system is set up to function with small code snippets rather than preformatted pages following someone else's design sense. From the actual cart through to checkout, it can be as ugly and standardized as anything, but on the front end, I just want to add buttons to my existing pages, and place the cart link where I feel like, with a look I design. So, is PrestaShop capable of handling this? Thanks in advance.
