TheBrickStore
Maybe I'm being unusually dense, but I have searched and searched and I can't figure out how to configure shipping to charge the fee according to the total price of the merchandise. I see in the Shipping tab that I can choose "Billing According to total price" I see in the Price Ranges tab that I can create price ranges for each carrier. But how do I specify the fee to charge for each price range? I am currently using V 1.5.4.1, and I use UPS and USPS as carriers. I have been using Prestashop for several years, using total weight to calculate shipping. I have received feedback from some customers that the shipping fee for small orders puts them off, and I have a lot of dropped carts. I thought I'd try this to see if it helps. What am I missing? Draygon
The billing according to price or weight that you are seeing is when that carrier would become available to your customer based on that set threshold. If you set to price, then below you set the price range for that carrier so that when the item/cart value is in that range, that carrier becomes available. Same applies to the weight option. Below the range options, you will see the zones, check or un-check the zones you want to use and to the right add the price you want to for that carrier in that specified range above and to the zones selected there. But if you are using UPS and USPS, prestashop has free modules (and some paid with more options) that will get those rates for you and bill them in your cart. Carrier charges are what they are, you cannot control that. You would need a UPS account (if you don't already have one) that would allow for you to get better rates. Sounds to me like you are paying full retail rates. Note that setting the billing according to weight or price does not have an impact on what the shipping cost will be, again, setting those options decide WHEN that carrier will become available to a customer to choose from. Also, adding the shipping cost per zone as outlined above could cause your profits to go down as you could very well be dipping into them. Best option is to use the USPS or UPS modules provided, establish your accounts with those carriers and let them return the cost for shipping. Again, shipping is what it is, it's out of our control. Best wishes
TheBrickStore
I have been using USPS and UPS modules for my shipping for several years to calculate my shipping rates to the customer. I wanted to try a different method to see if it would reduce dropped carts. I see that I can specify a price range for each carrier. I don't need a different rate for different zones. I was trying to set shipping rates for different price ranges. Many merchants charge a flat rate for prices ranges. For example: $0-19.99 = $9.99 shipping $20-29.99 = $11.99 shipping $30-$49.99 = 12.99 shipping and so on Is this not possible in Prestashop? I'm on 1.5.6.2 and this would be the configuration under Shipping>Carriers>New etc for what I understood of your requirements. >=0 and <20 = $9.99 for ALL zones >=20 and <29.99 = $11.99 for ALL zones etc. (ignore the values in the screenshot, i wasn't thinking then)

TiltBits
I have the same problem. I am using Prestahop 1.4.6.2 I want to specify a few price ranges with different shipping prices for one carrier. I don't need a different rate for different zones. For example: under the same carrier I want to set: A price range of R1- R300 which costs R180 to ship A price range of R301 - R500 which costs R290 to ship and so when someone orders a product that cost R100 the shipping default will be R180. and if someone orders a product that costs R400 the default shipping will then be R290. Is this possible? Edited October 2, 2014 by TiltBits (see edit history)
