Generate a link for a group of products?

Is it possible to tag a certain group of products and generate a link for this group?

 

e.g. 10 products tagged as open box. Generate a link for these 10 products. Create a banner and place it somewhere when clicked open these 10 products.

the only way to do this without custom code would be to create category for 'open box' for example, and associate the products to it.

 

then you have one link (category) to those products.

Seems like another way is to tag the products, get the product tags link and use that link in specific images and etc

I like this idea but would one need to write a module and/or hack to create links this way?

The theme that I am using creates the tags in a product tab. You can right click on the tags to get the link. Then it can be embedded into specific areas.

 

I think it works with default theme as well but I haven't tried it. Generate the tags for the products and get the link from the tags side bar or module then hide it when you got the link.

Another way you can do this is do a search on your site for "open box" then copy the url of the search result and use that as your link. This works assuming "open-box" is part of your product name or description.
