Flmbx
Hello, I read already quite some topics on Multistore but nothing that gave answer to my questions so I opened a specific topic on it. We recently migrated an existing shop from 1.4 to the latest 1.5.6 specifically for Multistore feature. The shop exists in 3 languages and it'd be better if it was split up per country with a specific domain for each country (SEO reasons). e.g: www.car.co.uk (main shop) www.voiture.fr www.machina.it The shop has to be the same in all 3 languages, only the domains and so the logos will differ. For 1 Shop the prices of the products will be a bit different as well. So I'm now here with my shop in 1.5.6. I enable Multistore and I find my Shop in Group "Default". Creating a new Group makes it possible to create new shops. What is the right way for me to setup this? - Do I leave my main shop (www.car.co.uk) in Group Default and do I create a New Group for the other 2 Shops? - Or do I re-create all 3 Shops in a new group? Problem then is that Default and 1 of the other Shops will carry same domain Can I "copy" the Main shop to the new group and their Shops? All tips and advice welcome. PS: what about accounting consequences of Multistore? I each Shop handled separately or can the monthly results be retrieved on global level? Nadia Ly
My advise to you is to avoid multistore feature until it gets better developed.... Yor first shop goes fine? good...dont mess this up and have a different instalation.... On the second one you might need to reinstall prestashop a couple of times to make sure it works fine, but the first shop will be safe... At the end running 2 stores separatedly is as ok as running 1 and a half, just safer... Prestashop is not so solid as we all would wish...
