Upgrade to 1.2.5 - Step 2

Recommended Posts

Well, seems like my version of 1.2.5 does not pass step 2 of the INSTALL
WHY?!
Anyone?

I have called my service provider, to set permissions on, and he did some, but not all yet. (latest news)
# After everything - we could not go beyond these 4 which are not yet √
Write permissions on folders and subfolders/recursively:
# /img
# /mails
# /modules
# /translations
This is where it started.
To be more clear:
I removed my old version, created a new www SHOPfolder and uploaded the whole new unzipped content - then after log in and install "Permissions" were OFF NO √ and no go next...

Write permissions on files and folders:
/config
/tools/smarty/compile
/sitemap.xml
Write permissions on folders and subfolders/recursively:
/img
/mails
/modules
/themes/prestashop/lang
/translations
/upload
/download

I just did an upgrade without any issues.

Before upgrading you should always:

Switch to the Default theme.
Disable Friendly urls. (only on live shops)
Copy a blank (empty) .htaccess in the root of your shop. (only on live shops)
Disable ALL non-default PS modules.
Check wich versions are in between your current version and the one you want to go to (ignore the beta releases).
Upgrade from you version to the next and then first check if you shop still works and make a backup before moving on to the next version.

Did I mention that you should always: BACKUP - BACKUP- BACKUP

How did you disable modules? Which modules are default? This is my first update.
Thank you

In most cases disableing of the modules makes the upgrade easyer, faster and safer.
Downside is that you have to reconfigure you shop again.

Disable module via Back Office >> Modules

Just to say thank you Prestashop for the great cart. My first update went well thanks to TropischBruin. I do have one other issue. Could someone please help. The only part that isn't working right now is adding shipping to cart. I checked the back office and all info is in place. Do I need to delete and start over with shipping?
Thank you:cheese:
