Problem with order creation/payment

Since the update to 1.6 I have a lot of issues with the orderplacement. The difficult thing is that it happens not all the time, so I don't know where to look.This is what happens:

 

When a customer orders a or more products he can register and select carrier all the way to step 5 payment, no problems.

At step 5, as soon as the customer clicks the 'I confirm button' on bankwire/cash on delivery or presses iDeal as payment option (wich is also an I confirm button) then the problems start.

 

Sometimes 50% of the time it goes perfect, no problems.

 

25% of the time the order is created twice with both different order ID's, leaving the customer with more order emails then they need. For ex. they get 'payment succesfull' and 10 minutes later they get 'problem with payment' from the first order. This is confusing for the customers.

 

The last 25% of the time the first order gives a 'problem with payment' straight away.

 

 

I tested it many times and I also consulted my iDeal payment service (Mollie). But they only see the succesfull orders coming in wich means the problem is definatly on my webshop. 

Sometimes while testing it takes a long time for the next page to load after i click the 'I confirm' button and it ends up with a blank page. If you press refresh then it sais, order is allready created with this cart ID.

 

I tried the prestashop database cleaner (don't know the englisch name for the module) and it didn't help. I used the show error setting to get rid of all the errors on the webpage, but it didn't help either. So you see this is very annoying (and costing me money) and I have no clue where to look next. So please help if you have any ideas.

This problem still isn't solved. What I recently noticed is that after creating an order, the BO sets the order status to Prepare for shipping, where it should be blank. Can this be any lead?
