Link "Random page product" ?

Hello,

 

we have a weird but funny idea, since so many people like to "play" on internet, we guess if it's possible to replicate what Wikipedia and other sites does, we mean "A random page" link which display a random product of the entire catalogue.

Do you know if there is already a module or which code could do it?

Just out of curiousity why and what are you trying to achieve with this.

 

I know you can have a specials page module and just use the basic price settings to show different products on different days

simply we would like to have a link "random product" on the left or right column that does the same as the wikipedia page "random article" that shows randomly a different product of the entire catalogue.

 

Because customers always want to "play" a little and also because we have more than 500 products so with that link it could be shown some products that customers not always display

What about using a html box for the link, Left/Right column

 

and use "shuffle" in the specials module

That could an idea, but we would prefer to use some new instead of touching something that is still working, the specials module is needed for discount offers already
