how to create a draft shopping site in local computer for testing

I want to test a shopping site on my computer before I go for hosting on the web, so

i have installed the http://www.easyphp.org/prestashop.php ( v1.6) and i came to prestashop page which shows "Manage your store" and “discover your store". I do not know what to do from here (sorry for my ignorance!), I want to open a draft website (front end) which i have created elsewhere in my computer, also i want to create a database etc... I was able to open only dash board or the example T shirt shop that was provided in the prestashop. Any help or a tutorial will be highly appreciated. Thanks
