Xannz
Hello I changed a theme setting and now I can't go to preferences -> themes. The website also won't load. I can still go to every other option on the admin panel but only themes is unavailable.

65fastback2+2
I am having this issue as well. Tried uploading a new theme. Went to 100%. Save Went to main theme screen. No new theme to select. Try uploading and saving again. Now when I tried to go back to preferences -> themes, I just get a 500 internal server error after a long timeout. All other tabs in BO and the front site still work perfectly. Tried enable error reporting. Tried again. Same thing and no error report. So I am officially now stuck. 65fastback2+2
Fully deleted the site (minus the database) and reloaded a backup I have from a couple hours ago. Still same issue.

Look with an ftp programm in your folder themes ,, is it there ? if yes set the 777 rights to : ~/themes/your-theme/lang ~/themes/your-theme/pdf/lang/ ~/themes/your-theme/cache After clear your cache in your BO go to : ADVANCED PARAMETERS -->> PERFORMANCE choose : Force compilation Cache : off click on : Clear Cache set the settings back and check if it works now

I'm about ready to delete the whole thing and reinstall. This is kinda ridiculous that trying to upload a theme has locked me out of the theme section. fwiw, the theme it said it uploaded does not have a folder or appear in the themes folder via ftp. maconl
ok so it isnt there , probably not on the server but in your database you can give one thing a try rename your .htaccess into ----htaccess (remove the dot and replace it with some stripes) then upload a empty .htaccess go in your BO and check with ftp if he did regenerated the new htaccess if so check if it works now if he didn't regenerate give the new htaccess 777 rights when regenarated give it back the 644 right

One of the two did it. Maybe the logging back in as I fully deleted .htaccess and regenerated already previously. Maddening. Now to try and get this theme to install again. maconl
you can unzip it on the server , and yes lot of themes say you can upload the zip via the BO but my experience on some servers is to upload it manual some servers give the folders then as GID : Apache and isnt writable i prefer to unzip it on the computer and upload it via ftp into the folder themes then give the folders as i said abouve somewhere the rights then go to your bo and select the theme Edit : if the unzipped files says themes - yourthemename then upload only yourthemename and sub folders into the folder themes Edited October 25, 2014 by maconl (see edit history)
