How to handle subcategories?

Hello There,

 

I was about to design pictures for the sub categorie thumbnails. Than i realised that these pictures get used after clicking ont he subcategorie as well so its pointless to do a 150x150px icon if the design get killed after clicking on it. Is there a way to disable that? I allready got kategories in my navigation.

you can edit the tpl for categories in your theme, and disable the img

you're talking about subcategory thumbs only? if so, in category.tpl is a code like:
