combination problem

Hiya i have a new shop that im just trying to setup and have come across a problem

 

i have one product that i need to assign 12 different attributes with 3 options in each

 

if i use the Product Combinations generator and only select up to 5 attribute sets then it works, but when i try to select all my attributes it goes to page not found, or in firefox it just displays a blank white page.

 

This doesnt add any of my attributes at all..

 

 

Is there a limit on how many attributes you can add using this Product Combinations generator

 

 

 

Please dont tell me i have to add them and work them all out manually

 

 

Also can we assign an image to each main attribute title (not the actual attribute options) without these images showing up on the main product section on the left of the standard prestashop 1.6 template

 

I want it to display an image on the left when your mouse goes over the attribute or assign an "information    i "      next to the attribute that wil ldisplay the image on the left or open a popup

12 different attributes with 3 options each is 530,000 combinations. That will not work. 

 

The way Prestashop has been programmed doesn't work well with such a setup as it allows you to assign a price, weight and a few other properties to each combination. Even when you keep them empty that consumes lots of resources with large quantities of combinations.

 

There are two ways to get out of this:

- there are some tools available that handle combinations in a different way. But they are not free: you will need to buy them in the addons shop.

- Prestashop allows you to define "customization fields". You could try to use them in some way. A bit tricky as these are plain input fields.
