1.6 Still missing built in Stripe Module

This week , we all received the latest Prestashop newsletter which focused on "Prestahop's Best Payment Modules"

 

How can prestashop claim to have the best payment modules, when they have completely given up development for stripe.  Stripe now which is one of the best and easiest way to accept payments online in more than 25 countries is continually being ignored by PS? Their is a old version that remains on GITHUB but that has since been discontinued and no longer supported.

 

Why do we need to pay for payment modules development from third parties? Basic modules interrogations like this should be built in to the core commerce application, without these payment gateways the platform itself is kinda useless unless we hire developers.  

 

Platforms such as bigcommerce, shopify, magneto community edition, all now have stripe payment connectivity built in.

 

Does PS 1.6 plan for stripe development?

I agree with you. I'm using stripe in 1.4.8.2 and soon will upgrade to prestashop 1.6 and there's no official stripe module available. Too bad. I'm using it and works very well.

Unfortunately the relationship between Prestashop and Stripe has ended, and they no longer support the module.  There was a communication on the forums that you can search for, which explained it some time back

I was very happy with Stripe on my PS 1.5.6.0

Now that I have updated to 1.6 what other credit card gateway do you recommend?

No reason to switch from Stripe if you are happy with their service.  It just means that you would need to locate a different module.  I sell the Stripe Reloaded module on my website and the addons store
