TAX rule problem. Not recalculating

Recommended Posts

Hello !

I am having a problem in my admin panel , product -> price , the tax rule (VAT) isn't applying to my pretax wholesale price. I added a photo where it can be seen that the retail price with tax is the same although the tax rule is selected.

Please help!

Thanks alot in advance!

Sorry 'RO Standard Rate (24%)' is indeed a tax rule, not a tax. However, adding a new tax rule is a 2-step process - I think you've only done the first step. See here:

Once the relevant countries for this tax rule have been added, I think you'll be OK.

Hi, I've now been able to reproduce the results you obtained, on a test 1.5.6.1 store.

First, I set up a new tax rule based on a 24% tax, where I chose all countries. In this case, the 24% tax was correctly applied to the base price in back office when I set up a new product.

Then, I added another tax rule where I just chose Romania. This time when adding a new product, the 24% tax was not added (same result as you).

Then I tried another tax rule where I just chose United Kingdom. This time the 24% was added correctly.

I found that as long as my list of countries included United Kingdom (which is the default country I chose at installation), the tax was correctly added to the base price in back office.

However, whatever was shown in the back office, in front office the price did include tax if the delivery address was in a country linked to the relevant tax rule (and excluded tax for other countries).

In your case, if you choose all countries for the tax rule, the price will display correctly in back office.

However, my question to you is: what was the default country you specified at installation? If it was Romania, then I'm really struggling to explain why a tax rule with just Romania didn't show correctly on the back office product page.

Hope that's not too confusing!

Cheers, Dave

I attached a photo of the tax rule after I chose United Kingdom , for this tax rule (TVA 24%).

Looks like I already selected UK for this tax rule which should work for the product price , but it's not working.

I donb't know what to do more.

Its weird enough it works for you with all countries and UK but for me is not.

Previously you had a tax rule called RO Standard Rate (24%). Is the tax rule TVA (24%) replacing that or in addition to it?

I suggest you delete any existing tax rules relating to 24%, then set up one new one where you just select All countries. Don't then try & edit any individual countries (that's why you got the error message).

Then make sure your product(s) use that new tax rule and check the back office price again.

Cheers, Dave
