(SOLVED) I deleted all old categories, added new ones and they are not appearing on the top

Hi there, 

 

I'm new with the prestashop. I installed the basic version and a new theme. 

I deleted all old categories and created new. I thought that the categories will appear on the top horizontal menu, but they didn't. I read a lot of different topics here in forum regarding this. I tried out a lot of thing :

modules>front office features>top horizontal menu - here I put in all categories that I need to appear.

than in modules>positions> I choose in show the horizontal top menu, but here I don't understand what (and how) I need to change, because I cannot click anywhere.

Hi Irma & welcome to the forums.

I had a look at your site, but there is no top horizontal menu there. Have you uninstalled, disabled or unhooked the module?

Hi Irma,

You can put it back again - Modules->Positions then click Transplant a module. Select the Top horizontal menu module and hook into displayTop.

Could you confirm the version of Prestashop you are using?  If you could also provide a screenshot of the configuration page for the top horizontal menu module, that would be of help.

Many thanks for help It worked I had to hook the top horizontal menu into display top. 

I'm using prestashop v1.6.

Irma, you can upload a screenshot if you click on More reply options and then choose a file to attach. I think as long as it's a .jpg or .png, it should be accepted. Alternatively, use an online screen capture facility  such as imgur.com and post the link to your image.

If you're happy this thread can be closed, you can indicate this to other forum members by going to your first post, click on Edit, then on Use full editor. Add [sOLVED] to the thread title.

well, if all of you: configured module in back office (added new categories to top horizontal menu) and changed not appear in the front office - it's worth to clear entrie shop cache (adv. paramterers > performance tab)
