walber2409
Dear all: I am going through a very frustrating phase of "tried it all" right now when moving my shop (1.5.4/template from 3rd party(templatemonster.com)/Linux SuSE 13.1/LAMPP 1.8). I used to run it on a webspace with no root access and thought it to be a good idea to change to a root server of my own. In all due brevity, here are the steps taken in the course of this endeavour: ACTION Status (Verification) Method ====================================================================== 1) Moved domain to new provider okay checked zone file; curl; traceroute 2) Backup of database (MySQL 5.x) okay phpMyAdmin 3) Moved everything to new location okay scp 4) changed .htaccess in Document Root okay vi 5) changed settings.inc.php (database) okay 6) import of db backup okay phpMaAdmin Now when I try to run the shop in any browser, I will get an error indicating that the language variable was not found (e.g. www.myshop.com/de not found ( wouldn't work with whatever language chosen. I tried to move the shop to another subdirectory producing the same annoying results. Please advise. I will be happy to provide you wuith any information needed. Regards from Germany Werner
El Patron
I suggest regenerating .htaccess from back office. You can accomplish this by turn on/off or off/on friendly url's from back office depending on if you have friendly url's turned on or off.

Well, unfortunately when entering <myshop.com>/admin I keep getting back a blank screen - not even an error cose from Apache ....

Thanks for development turn on errors as your fp is not loading completely. if you have never run ps on new server then it is highly recommended to do a native install so that ps can check your server run-time for in compatibilities before uploading a developed shop that is working on localhost. also, your post is 'not' similar to original poster, so in the future please open new (your own) topic.
