sipus
I have been working on my website for 5 whole months! www.schoolprideaccessories.com.au Yes started with free software, then added module upon module upon module to get it to function for what I need it to do. Simply put is to allow my customers to see a product, order and pay. I have had nothing but trouble and its still not working right. I'm embarrassed and am continually apologising to my customers for a store that does not work. I have looked for help here on the forum. Solutions to my problems which are not really that hard. I just want the site to WORK!! The site is SLOOOOOOW to upload. So I optimized the images with smush. I dont know what else to do but I am really frustrated. Only God knows how much cash and time I've invested already. Its like a kick when you are down. someone i know just opened a 'shopify' webstore...what do ya know...no problems. So please, please, please, i'm begging. Can someone help me!? I am willing to pay to have these issues resolved. But enough is enough, i think i hate my website. www.schoolprideaccessories.com.au Edited March 25, 2014 by sipus (see edit history)
El Patron
jajajaja...yes, we all hate our websites from time to time....and getting one the way we want and maintaining it can be more than money but a huge investment in time. I just looked at your shop and it loads pretty fast with a google score of 95/100...so nothing to be ashamed of there. what in particular are you wanting to address?
sipus
Well one example is, purchasing an item. Click on a school uniform fabric item like http://www.schoolprideaccessories.com.au/123-school-flower-7mm-headband.html and then go direct to choose your school from the drop down box.... if done to quickly it just enlarges the product image instead of showing the drop down options for the schools. then customize and add to cart. sometimes adds it and sometimes it doesn't. I think once you get the awp issue resolved you will feel better. Attributes is very difficult to work with both as a shop owner and developer. I suggest asking (include your link) in this topic as well: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/47363-module-attribute-wizard-pro-create-an-unlimited-number-of-attributes-and-display-as-radio-button-checkbox-dropdown-textbox-teaxtarea-files/ as for javapro, I had a lot of fun developing it and bringing it to life. So far all my customers 'loved' it and hope you do as well...if your brother has questions tell him to catch me on chat or email me from the shop...zoom zoom

What do you think the problem could be then?? " Your site seem slow regardless of our module. We checked the load time of the product page on the server, and it was about 3.5 seconds with our without our module. As for the zoom issue, I believe it has to do with clicking on the wrong place, as we were not able to reproduce the issue, and our module would not have any affect on the product image or a zoom module." sipus
you might find this article useful. http://blog.dh42.com/cut-prestashop-load-time/ El Patron, Absolutely FANTASTIC!! Thank you so much! They should ad this to the modules for presta shop or build it in!! My problems are not over but significantly improved. I am going to swap the AWP module for the other one they offer. Hopefully it will work better for me! I dont know how Prestachango could not see the same problem like you saw. Should i insist that they check again? It happens when i select their drop down box. Yes, I still see the thickbox issue, when I click on the drop down during page load I get the photo without a way too close it so I have to use the browser back button. Here is a suggestion that would be easy to test, use JqZoom instead of thickbox for product pages. http://screencast.com/t/BueBL3O2CL
sipus
Yes, I still see the thickbox issue, when I click on the drop down during page load I get the photo without a way too close it so I have to use the browser back button. Here is a suggestion that would be easy to test, use JqZoom instead of thickbox for product pages. http://screencast.com/t/BueBL3O2CL Yes, this has been done. Presta Chango would not allow me to return their module in exchange for their other combinations module, saying it was listed in the description they are not compatible on the same site. They did however offer me a store credit. When I asked them to install the new module, they said to remove the other one it would be at a charge. So now the original module has been removed and replaced with product list attributes. So now a new lot of problems, ""we installed the module Product List Attributes module properly, but in list view there are some issue because you theme is setting a default height. Please check your theme to solve this issue" I dont understand exactly what I need to do. What do you think of how the site looks now and do you notice if its still slow? El Patron
It would be faster if you were using the JavaPro module you purchased. Are you having difficulty using it? I've updated module to 1.7.9 which is a bit more user friendly and includes a FAQ page. Log into shop and contact me so I can send updated module. Apparently they may have a better attributes module built in?
El Patron
I suggest creating a 1.6 (wait until 1.6.0.6) in a subdomain or localhost.th then kick the tires and see if new version better meets your requirements.

I dont know what else to do but I am really frustrated. http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/311214-another-topic-about-the-speed-of-prestashop/ I recognize the emotions on your path to speed... I am far from an expert, but my slow Prestashop speeded up quite a lot when I moved to another VPS and had my serverguy configured it correctly. And it didn't even cost a fortune ;-) He also installed Pagespeed on my server and that also helped a lot. When I look at your website's score: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/ewf40g/http://www.schoolprideaccessories.com.au/ I would think you have a server issue also. Any chance you can have it upgraded or configured better, or even move to another server/host?

sipus
it is unhealthy to hate inanimate objects (my mom). I still hate my website. now i have another issue...http://schoolprideaccessories.com.au/165-school-frabic-headband ...i have looked and compared and tried to figure out why some items are coming up as not being able to be added to cart and then others can be. Then when the item is actually viewed, it can be added to the cart. Still having that same issue with the image being enlarged when selecting attributes. i am loosing sooooo much business because of this. I need a developer to look into these issues. Prestachango hasnt been much help either. still claiming its not their module...but they are the ones who installed it 'free'. I really dont know where to go from here. My suggestion is to post in 'job offers'. List issues you need addressed. There are many good 3rd party people that work for reasonable price that I am sure can make you sleep a lot better. This is what I would do.
sipus
El Patron, Please tell me that its possible that the problem with the image enlarging when the drop down button pressed has something to do with 'thickbox'? it was selected as yes and i have unselected it. Please can you check it? www.schoolprideaccessories.com.au Enable JqZoom instead of Thickbox on the product page

Paulito
Good morning Just did a pingdom test http://screencast.com/t/eIaWsPW8ab Also your Top navigation is barely visable http://screencast.com/t/eRxUOREpn You obviously have a few problems but for a customer and browsers alike the pages take too long to load, I had the same problem because I have a lot of images. A quick fix to improve my performance was to use an Express module http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/304599-module-express-cache-speed-up-your-prestashop/?hl=%20vikas Hope this may be of some help to you Paul
