vekia
if you still use 1.5 release don't update modules ! almost all of them uses function dedictated for prestashop 1.6 core they will not work in 1.5 unfortunately
bside2234
Yeah, I'm finding the same issue. Updating certain modules causes the white screen. For me it was Blocksearch and Homeslider modules. Not sure I want to update to 1.6 yet. Reading too many nightmares.
vekia
it's because new blocksearch module uses not supported by 1.5 function located in Media class: addJsDef if you still use 1.5, if i were you i will just disable updates notification i did that and I am calm;)

hthpat
Iam not an expert, had the same problem with horizontal menu and slider after upgrade them. I downloaded whole compressed presta archive of my version 1.5.6.1, found folder module/blocktopmenu and copied files from it. As far works.

So I have not updated. But honestly, what pills have they, anonym Prestashop, digested to treat shop users like this? Like I drive an old BMW 3 and the BMW syndicate sends me a set new tires and makes me believe I have to fix them. Then I go for a test drive and the old nice but still working car breaks. BMW tells me, hrhr, it hadn't the breast to drive them, so please ^^ get a brand new BMW.
El Patron
this situation is certainly frustrating to all ps users and honestly is just bad practice... if you would like to help change this incompatibility practice, add your comments to this post http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/317563-addons-suggesting-incompatiable-native-module-upgrades/
