lensdoctor
I have same issue when installing prestashop onto networksolution hosting server. Permissions on files and folders Recursive write permissions for Apache user on ~/log/ Recommended PHP parameters Cannot open external URLs I had a problem with writing permissions on NS and there is no way to set recursive permissions for ~/log/ (per Network Solutions). I had to create a prestashop directory in /htdocs/ and then I reassigned my domain to direct it to there. Problem solved! Now I have a new problem when customer tries to log out, they get this... Page Isn't Redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. Should I just switch back to an older version of PS? Would a clean install of PS 1.6.0.8 (instead of One Click Update) fix problems? These problems need to be addressed! I could force all pages to open in SSL as a temporary fix but that's lame. I hear Network Solutions will install Magento for free...

electriz
Set chmod 777 to a /cache/ folder and all the content inside it. In UNIX you execute following command: sudo chmod 777 -R ./cache Or just change it via FTP. 2
thanh_tan
Thanks you. CHMOD 777 with -R works
Zohaib-fk
Hi, One ways to solve this problem is by connecting via FTP to web hosting account. Changing permissions of the required folders recursively using FTP client like FileZilla. For security reason 777 permission can not be given to all directories. satkauskas
Dont forget to set it back to 755. Because 777 is INSECURE
