Hi everyone,

I can't seem to be able to upload any images, for example for my CMS pages, carrier icons, homepage etc.. I'm using 1.5.6.2 (had too many issues with 1.6).

Whenever I try to upload an image (does not matter whether jpg, gif or png), I get vague errors like:

'no file has been selected for uploading' (from file upload form and believe me, a file has been selected)

'cannot upload file' (carrier icon)

This used to work until we had a clean install yesterday, therefore I am sure the images and folders are all ok (permissions and rights, dimensions, size and so on..).

I tried to look for similar posts, tried anything I could find, but couldn't find any solution.

I tried to upload them from chrome, firefox and IE, but to no avail.

I had no issues whatsoever with product images, oddly enough; I was able to upload them and they all work perfectly.

I would gladly appreciate any help or suggestions!

Thanks in advance to everyone!

Chris

Did you do a roll-back  form 1.6  to 1.5.6.2 ?  Or did you resdtored a backup from admin-panel of your provider ?

I had similar issue, upgrading to 1.5.6.2  Rollback within PS gave errors.

restore backup from DirectAdmin panel worked fine

I actually rebuilt the whole site as we had issues with the rollback from 1.6 to 1.5.6.2.

So it is a clean install on a different database.

Luckily we had most of our data (text, pics) stored and were able to copy+paste them.

I would double check the permissions on the images folder first

With a clean install this should not be a problem I suppose ?

Only thing what could be the problem that there is a "left-over"  from the original installation.

Perhaps  deleting this installation and check if there is no directory "left behind"  ???

If there is someting "left behind"  delete it ( with ftp)  and do a clean install ??

Good luck  ;)

Thanks! We seem to have found a way to solve it (moving the images directly into the folders, bypassing the uploader).

But this does not work for carrier's icons..

It seems to be a server problem now more than a prestashop issue.. we'll keep looking for the problem, in order to find a definitive solution.

check permissions for directory mentioned in error code, directory must be writable, recursively writable.
