Export whole category tree (1.6)

I'm brand new to PrestaShop and just installed 1.6.

 

1.  I successfully imported my categories, but now it's time to import my products, and I don't know the new IDs associated with the categories. I went to Catalog --> Categories --> Export icon, but that only gave me the top-level categories (and from looking at that file, I can tell the IDs are not the same as the ones I imported). I need the whole catalog tree.
EDIT -- I got the ID's from the sitemap. But still... it would be handy if the full export worked.

2.  Also, we have subcategories with the same names -- example:

POWER SONG SERIES
  Pop
  Rock
  Country
  Oldies
FUN SONG SERIES
  Pop
  Rock
  Country
  Oldies

Is there a good solution for this, such that the back-end name is unique, but the user-facing name may be duplicated? To get the import to work, I name them "Pop 1, Pop 2" etc but that's not going to fly for the front-end.
