so_frustrated
You know it's my right to PUBLISH or not MY modifications? I won't share my modifications and @Dh42 you still didn't answered if you ever installed a fresh Prestashop 1.6? Do you think I even care for a muted account? Dh42
I didn't delete your account, I muted it. Your replies need manual approval. It has nothing to do with frustration, it has to do with respect. Your posts are disrespectful. I offered to help you and you basically said you did not need it and called me a liar. So I muted your account. You have not added any meaningful discussion to the forum. I am assuming you are an adult and you are going around on the forum and acting like a child. so_frustrated
As far as I see, you are the only one going away from the subject. I asked you some simple things... you could respond and discution would get it's course to the bugs and other things I've managed to resolve and yet... it's more important who's an adult and who's a child, right? Have you did all those things with 1.6? Yes or No. Well... I've seen so many bugs withing this version... and let me tell one more thing. In 1.6.0.1 were less bugs that in 1.6.0.5... it's not ready to be public! You (as in Prestashop) resolve one issue by creating two more... for multiple times! That's not all I had to say, but I'm a chialdish adult as that's what matters now. Can you be kind and delete this account and post... please? Dh42
Yes, I have done those things. I actually have a live personal shop on 1.6 that takes a 30k daily product update. A lot of the importing was done before 1.6.0.5, but it gets daily imports on it now. SO the answer is yes. I don't work for Prestashop. I do contribute code when I have time from the git, but I am not an employee. I am a volunteer that helps people because I believe the software is good and I like Prestashop.
selectshop.at
Welcome on board Dh42 and don't worry but be happy. That was the reason why I abandoned the forum as moderator. As simply user without any rights you are not target of such discussions. Some users do not know how to use the word "netiquette". @ so_frustrated: all engaged users and moderators here surely test or work with Prestashop on their live shops. Otherwise it is not possible to become moderator ! If you refuse their/our help, so we cannot do nothing for you... The major problems are on bad hosting packages. Did you ever checked your hosting for the minimal configuration to run Prestashop ? And yes I'm using PS 1.6. upgraded from PS 1.3 to PS 1.4, than to PS 1.5. and finally to PS 1.6. mandrin
@ Dh42 , smile and wave dude You had full right to go nuts, but you kept your cool in the face of insults. Much respect to you. I love the way people go insane and demand instant solutions for a free software solution There ARE going to be problems people. The issues I had to deal with and resolve goes right back to when I upgraded my site to PS 1.2.5. It was frustrating but I stuck it through with loads of awesome support and help. Yes, 1.6 has hassles. But no one is putting a gun to your head and forcing you to upgrade. It takes less than a day, to copy your live site to a secure and non-live enviroment. That store you then upgrade and play with and fault find. Keep going till it's stable for you. Then you copy that now upgraded and working site, back to your live location. All the while your money-earning-live-site, is untouched. Personally however, and with respect to the Prestashop team and support devs, but I would rather wait a good few months before upgrading to the latest version. There are ALWAYS bugs and the best way to find them is to release the package into the wild and play with it. I am running an awesome theme on PS 1.5.6 and it has a lot of similarity and functionality with PS 1.6. My shop is perfectly stable with zero issues. I will make a copy in say 6 months time and then upgrade that copy to 1.6.x. If it is stable and is worth going live because of new modules/functionality then I can safely and happily do so. Just take a breath , say Goosefrabah, and breath out for the count of 10. Go for a walk, wash your face or have a sleep. Anything, but just chill dudes
