Customers don't receive confirmation email when using contact form

Hi,

 

I'm using prestashop 1.5.4.

 

While I (admin) receive messages/emails that customers send using the contact form, they (customers) don't receive a confirmation email.

 

they do get a confirmation email when placing an order though. the problem only seems to exist when people use the contact form.

 

Any ideas?
