vmarkovic
Hello everyone, My firs topic here on Prestashop forums Im noob regarding this stuff (Prestashop, web development, etc) but I read forums here alot and Im ready to learn. Since I can not successfully upgrade my local copy of production site via 1-click upgrade module (also I tried this guide, but always a blank page when trying to login to BO), I was wondering is there any way to import my products (with images), categories, orders and customers via phpMyAdmin to new, freshlly installed PS 1.6.I have access to phpMyAdmin and FTP of a production site. Thanks in advance.Kind regards,Vedran
Administratоr
I would like to know this as well. Looks safer to me to put a fresh install on a test server, import products, categories, CMS, clients, orders etc... to the new prestashop 1.6 and if all works well, move this install to the live server. I want to use the new theme anyway so that would be great! No messing around with incompatible modules or upgrade bugs or whatever. thekamaster
Hi, I want to test this too on my test shop (with images included, even if they all have to be regenerated).
mandrin
If you are willing to pay a nominal fee, I highly recomend Cart2Cart http://www.shopping-cart-migration.com/supported-carts/147-prestashop I was tearing my hair out trying to copy my data to a fresh install, until I found these guys. It works like a dream and they also offer incredible support. I know it sounds like I work for them But when I was ready to give up and copy product by product, I found them and perfectly copied data from 1.2.5 to 1.5.6 effortlessly. They also have a free demo, so you can make 100% it works before you spend a cent. Edited March 18, 2014 by mandrin (see edit history)

Follow also this topic, activate debug-modus after upgrade. http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/313098-prestashop-16-rc-is-released/ By the way, according to Gregory manual upgrade (only database) is not supported anymore with PS 1.6., so please don't use it and upgrade with 1-click module. If don't work for you, so please check your server settings and minimal server requirements: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/305294-solved-prestashop-1562-crashing-and-taking-out-my-webhosting/?do=findComment&comment=1545014 @ Administrator - on that topic there is a how-to clone a shop. http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/313098-prestashop-16-rc-is-released/?do=findComment&comment=1586431 Edited March 19, 2014 by selectshop.at (see edit history)

selectshop.at
@alfredopacino - What would you like to know ? There is no need to make any import. Which errors are you having ? Did you activated the debug-modus ? Your server configuration is according to what needed ?
navid68
Normally we upload our products with the CSV import (first create and manipulate in Excel, then export in CSV file). Unfortunately, I can not make it work in 1.6. Anyone tested CSV import in 1.6? Navid

navid68
Yes, import works fine in PrestaShop 1.6... actually I am testing 1.6.0.5 I am trying to upgrade from 1.4 to the latest version and the CSV file is really different: there are more columns but you can ignore most of them. My suggestions: - work first on a test csv to understand the content and then try real import - make sure the hosting service is high quality, csv importing is very slow and requires a high performance server If you have questions with details, I will be happy to help you. Navid I have my shop at 1.5.6.2, and made a new installation of 1.6.0.6 . CSV of 1.5.6.2 are tottaly different, customers details went to groups, products not compatible, it is impossible to import 1.5 to 1.6 with CSV files. I have to either upgrade, and then fix the uncompatible template, or setup customers and products from zero in the new shop. It is awfull that there is no CSV compatibility between two versions, even a way to convert it.
