[Solved] making my shop available only for testing purposes

Hi all,

This question has probably been asked before, but searching Google and several forums wasn't succesful for me.

I have been setting up a shop on my local machine. It is almost finished, but not completely ready. Now I want to put the shop at the server of my host so I can test it there. But I don't want to make it available to customers yet. How can I do that? I am looking for a way to make the user enter a password before he can enter the shop. I have found some solutions where people put the shop in a subfolder, but I think this will be not a good solution for Prestashop, where all paths are defined at install-time.

Is there someone out there who can give me a hint?

You can switch the shop in maintenance mode :
Back Office >> Preferences
Enable Shop : No
and specify your IP address in :
Maintenance IP
to be the only one to access it.

Wasn't aware that Prestashop is offering a solution itself.
Was looking for a solution in the wrong place.
