Featured product and Smarty Cache probelm when disabeling Ajax cart

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

We have now decided to migrate out old oscommerce sites to prestashop, and bought some modules and also a few templates from Template Monster, unfortunately.

It now seems that there are full of errors, and we simply had to disable the Ajax Cart for one of them, as we got an error message when the site was loaded each time. At this point I hope they are working on a solution, as the templates on their own site has teh same issues, however we really need something working faster than the replies we are getting.

Disabeling the Ajax cart takes care of the error, but seems to create another problem, as I cannot add products to the cart from the featured product site when logged in as a customer, until I clear the Smarty Cache. Then I can add products Again for a certain while.

This is only a problem if the customer is logged in. Visitors can add products to the cart.

Clearing teh smartycache will keep the site going for a few hours, but then it comes right back on Again.

Anyone that has any ideas ?

We are using Friendly URL, but th etool tip text i get on the button on the featured product page is not in friendly format and uses the product id and some kind of toke.....not sure if that has an impact.

Everywhere else the add to cart is working, except for the initial list of search results (dont know if that is normal)

Best regards

Hi Guys,

Seems that nobody had that exact problem, however I think I can start narrowing it down, as it seems to be a conflict in teh smarty cache somewhere with the featured products template I guess.

After a while, it is not possible to add products to the cart from featured products. When you click the button add to cart is blinks and then stays on the same page. Everywhere else add to cart works, so I suspect the buttons on the featured product page.

If I clear the Smarty cache it works again for a while - that I tried

Also

It happened today again, and before clearing the smarty cache, I tried to disable the friendly URL and then it works again.

It seems there is a messed up conflict of some kind, but I would imagine it is in the template we bought.

Can anyone give a hint, or can anyone suggest a serious freelancer that can help ?

Br. Brian
