Ditch
I have searched throughout the forums here to figure out how to simply build a category, without the parent being "home". I followed one thread, and was able to at least create different top level navigation menu items, however they all go to '404' error. I have also gone back into categories, after initially going in and installing or actually using the module which allows top level items. It seems like this should be point and click, but I cannot figure it out. the site I am working on is this:http://everythingfleurdelisllc.com/store/index.php I would like to sort this out simply, but it seems overly complicated just to create a caetgory without it being a child of "home". Maybe if I could figure out a way to add the category within the modules area it would work. Do I create sub cats of home, then go into the modules and move them over that way? Thanks in advance for any and all help you can give me.
Ditch
Dismiss this post. I'm an idiot, but I figured it out. I just didn't realize you had to create the categories then remove the orginal root home category. Hopefully I can still add a custom homepage. Paulito
Hello Perhaps a silly question but, do you simply want to change the "Home" category to something else Paul
stottycabanas
Removing the original root home category is not generally a good idea. Could you explain why you want to have categories that don't have Home as the parent? It's not clear what your end goal is. Thanks, Dave
