Purchase of a module - SSL needed

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I have bought a module "facebook shop tab". It requires a SSL certificate to work.

At the moment I have no certificate as the payments are made through Paypal.

If I understand correctly, the "SSL active" in the BO settings/ General will activate the SSL (after purchase of course) only for the payment and the client pages but not on the other pages.

The pages that need to be in "HTTPS"  are this one : "http://www.lesdessousdechantal.be/modules/facebookpsshoptab/index.php"  and the links out of this page (for example : http://www.lesdessousdechantal.be/modules/facebookpsshoptab/?ctx=category&id_category=32)

How should I do to have https on these pages ?

I presume that the fact to have HTTPS on the pages from site will cause a problem for the SEO, Analytics, Adwords ???

Thanks in advance for your help

Best regards

You have to order SSL certificate from your hosting company, without certificate ssl connection to your facebook shop tab module will not work. there is no other way, you have to use VALID and accepted by all browser ssl certificate.

Morning  Vekia,

Thanks for your answer.

I have bought a "test" SSL to... test. :P

But I have some questions.

When I test it, I have the following :

Untitled.jpg

but when I test without www it's fine.

When I have ordered the certificate I entered Lesdessousdechantal.be as it was mentioned on the host page.

Will it cause problems, if I activate the SSL in the BO ?

by the way in the SEO & URL page, for the "domain SSL" should I keep it unchanged that means www.lesdessousdechantal.be (same as "domain") ?

By the way (2), I tried to modified these 2 to "lesdessousdechantal.be" (without www) and I had 404 everywhere (except on homepage  that was "working" except the images).

Shouldn't these 2 lines be without www to be in line with the domain mentioned on the host site.

If I have to change, how should I do to avoid the 404 pages ?

Thanks a lot

www.shop.com and shop.com aren't the same domains (www.shop.com is a subdomain of shop.com). These domains are different, for each of them you have to order separated ssl certificate. you can also order certificate called "wildcart" then each subdomain (and main domain will be secured too.

Hello,

Thanks for your answer, I received the answer from the host in the same time.

and he has the same answer as you.

He proposed me also to redirect automatically to non-WWW pages

But my problem is that at the moment, when I enter an address without www (except homepage)  I have a 404 error (for example : http://www.lesdessousdechantal.be/soutien-gorge/921-gamme-saphia-bandeau-bombgirl-sensual-3700867200007.html?controller=404).

As for the moment, the non-www are incorrectly redirect to www page, how should i do to make my www pages  redirect to non www ones without 404).

In the BO, on the "domain" and "domain ssl" it's mentionned www. shop.com (my sub-domain), should I change it to shop.com ?

I tried that earlier today and I had 404 everywhere, how should I do ?

Thanks

EDIT: I'm getting more and more confused, searching on internet, if I'm not wrong I have all the files in the domain (/home/www/prestashop) and not in a subdomain...
