Prestashop vs Opencart

Recommended Posts

I made this post a few days ago and for some reason it was deleted with no warning or notice?

I just came across PrestaShop this week and I'm looking to use it to replace an OpenCart powered website for one of my clients. Prior to switching I had a few questions.

Has anyone moved from OC to PS?

With the ebay integration, is it full integration where eBay orders automatically insert to your back office?

Is there integration for Etsy?

I appreciate any feedback!

Thanks.

Why a new topic with same question ? http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/312637-prestashop-vs-opencart/?view=getnewpost

Perhaps there is nobody here which moved from OSC to Prestashop cause your question is still not answered ?

I try to answer you: If you move or not depends on the feature you need. In principle there is no problem to migrate. You have on Prestashop a module migrating your data to Prestashop. Activate on your back-office under modules -> importer OSC and follow there the insctrucions.

Excellent. I did want to update from my previous statement, the other post was not deleted, but the user panel shows I didn't have any posts though.

PS supports a few features that OC doesn't out of the box that I really liked.

One of my biggest questions though is about Etsy and eBay integration.

Prestashop has a free ebay module, but this fits only for some countries. See here: http://addons.prestashop.com/en/marketplace-prestashop-modules/2742-ebay.html

Another free module you will find here: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/239130-free-module-ebay-module-for-all-country/

Etsy -  sorry I don't know what it is, therefore cannot help.
