Problems changing the url or server of my shop

Recommended Posts

We built a new site using a dev url, and are trying to move it to a production url, but I seem to be having problems getting it to function. The dev url is:

http://arkhamasylumcomics.com/testing/store/prestashop/

And I'm trying to move it to:

http://pzcomics.com

Both sites are running on the same hosting company, and both versions of Prestashop are identical. I tried FTPing all the files to the root folder of pzcomics.com and then also imported all the tables. When you do that, it just redirects you to the arkhamasylum install. I went in to the admin and changed the preferences > SEO & URLS domain, ssl and base urls to pzcomics.com but then the site doesn't show up at all.

I've searched everywhere for tutorials or instructions, but nothing seems to solve this issue. I've tried pointing to the old database in the .ini file, I set up a new Prestashop install. Nothing seems to solve the redirect problem at all.

Does anyone have any suggestions? It should be fairly simple. WordPress lets you manage things like this easily. I've never seen a CMS where I cannot change the url through either something in the admin or one of the php files. Is the url hidden somewhere in the DB itself?

Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks.

It's not in maintenance mode. I just checked that again. This is the error that I receive:

Oops, something went wrong.

Try to refresh this page or feel free to contact us if the problem persists.

Is there a way to turn on more detailed error reporting in Prestashop?

  • 2 weeks later...

Try changing "Advanced Parameters | Performance | Debug console"  to "Always open console" ... save and reload your front-end.

A console should open up where you can see load times and modules loaded, etc ... maybe you can see something there that might help you?
