product image upload failure

I have been trying to upload images to my products.  Every time I attempt this, a red bar with the word 'undefined' appears at the bottom of the screen

 

The files are quite small (~ 200KB), way under the 8MB limit.

 

I have tried to load larger files (~ 2MB).  Still no success.

 

I have tried to upload from the computer's hard drive as well as external drives.

 

Same result.

 

I am at my whit's end.

 

I am using version 5.6.1

What format do you use to upload the image? PretaShop currently only supports jpg, gif and png...

 

If that doesn't help anything, maybe try to turn on Debug mode, and see if you get more info feedback...

Have tried JPG and PNG.  Even had a go with PDF out of sheer desperation!.  

 

Images are uploading perfectly in all other parts of the shop - just not this one.

 

I will try Debug mode - I am not familiar with it.

Made the changes as suggested - how do i turn debug on?  Where do I access it?

If you turned debug mode on

(changed false->true as described on link) then just do the same action, and see if you get any additional info on the screen, normally before the page (re)loads, at the top.

 

Hope this helps and gives any clue. If not, turn debug mode off again, as it slows down the site and nay show warnings etc, which you don't want to bother your clients with...
