Installing Prestashop from a existing database

Hi all!!. I'm getting my first online shop.

 

I have a question that is giving me a lot of headaches.

 

I have got a full dump of a old Prestashop and i want install a new Prestashop in other server with that database copy. Is it possible??? I don't get it

I suggest creating a test (running) copy of the old PrestaShop.

 

When you have that working (say in a subdomain or localhost)

 

back the test shop up db/files

 

and try the various methods of upgrading, i.e. one click or manual....

 

see what works...and then proceed with that game plan.

 

(note: there is really no way to just merge/mash them together that I am aware of)

Usually this method would not work and is only used as a last resort. Follow El Patrons advice. There is a tutorial on how to make a test server for your store, located in my signature.

 

It will probably be more effective to use a CSV to import you old data in the new PrestaShop.

Thanks for your suggestions but is not possible to access the old prestashop. I only have the full dump.

 

How can i do CSV with my dump?
