[Solved] - Moving to a VPS, need help in moving prestashop

Hi Guys,

I am currently with Godaddy's shared hosting and i swear it has been the worst mistake of my life. Am moving to Inmotion's VPS and need your help in understanding the steps i need to follow for a smooth transition in moving my store.

I currently have Prestashop Version 1.2.2 installed with about 8000 products. Need to know how to move the store over.

In a nutshell:

Make a backup of you current database via phpMyAdmin to you local drive.

Backup your template if you use a 3rd party template.
Backup your other files especialy the image directory.

Do a clean install on you new hoster.
Empty the newly created database and import your backup database via phpMyAdmin.
Copy the image directory back.
Login via you BO.

I'm on a shared server and that is working fine.
I see no need fo moving onto my own VPS but if that is what you want ;-)

Maybe i should move to your hosting service, coz im so sick and tired of the con-job godaddy is. Its always slow and they always have an excuse !!! The only thing i like that they have is the Traffice Blazaer service. Hey did you get a chance to check out my site .

My hosting is in The Netherlands with VDX.nl.
I'm not sure if that would be wise if you come from the US.

You shop looks OK for a Haloween-shop I'll guess :cheese:
