modifying .htaccess for 301

Hello!

In google tools for webmaster recommend to make a 301 redirect because my web can access with and without "www"

I see that is possible using .htaccess but I don't find this case in google. All examples are for redirect one old domain to new domain.

In canonical module I put the web with www, like in google tools the default is with www too.

It's possible to make this redirect in .htaccess? thx's!
