binunice
I am evaluating the new version of Prestashop. Currenty I have shop which runs in PS1.5 and I want migrate data in to newly installed database of PS1.6. I have tried by changing config strings but it's not successfull. How can I safely migrate all data to new database?
Lucas Cerdan
Once the 1.6 is stable (because we don't encourage to migrate live shop on version that are not final), you can use the module "1-click upgrade" that manage the upgrade for you (DB model, files, etc...).
eibrahimov
All data migration to 1.5, 1.6 CSV import/export Module This module can help you. Export/Import all favorite data from prestashop from 1.4 to 1.5/1.6 & 1.5 to 1.6 This module allows you to export any size all data(Categories, Products, Combinations, Customers, Addresses, Manufacturers, Suppliers) from PrestaShop 1.4.X to PrestaShop 1.5.X and 1.6.X. Also from 1.5.X to 1.6.X without data lose. Usage of this module doesn’t require any special technical skills, it is easy to use. It help you to save your time from routine work of manual data migration. http://addons.prestashop.com/en/export-modules/8934-all-data-migration-to-15-16-csv-import-export.html I am evaluating the new version of Prestashop. Hi Lucas, Hope all is well with you, I met you at your seminar in London 16th June, I have learnt a great deal from the meeting and thank you all so much. I love the 1-click miration tool from 1.5 to 1.6 its really save a lot of hassle, really like this tool. Just a few cosmetic thing needed to sort out after migration. I hope that you can organise more workshop in the UK, no doubt that prestashop are rapidly growing from strength to strength in the Uk, I wish you all the best Alex

tuk66
Have you tried to install v1.5 locally and upgrade to the new version? Database is automatically upgrading within upgrade process.

howardliptzin
Hello, my issue is slightly different: I have an instance of 1.5 on a shared hosting service, and I want to upgrade the store to 1.6 on my new VPS, but my custom theme will not run on 1.6, so if I do the 1-click upgrade i will essentially take my store offline until I can get the new one up and running. This is not an option. I would like to somehow export and convert the 1.5 DB to 1.6 without actually upgrading the 1.5 store, then import the upgraded DB into my new instance. Ideas? Much appreciated, Howard
