Hide Sold Out Products From Menu (not direct in-link)

How can I achieve the following, with as little modifications as possible?

 

Hide out of stock products from the "front office" area so that the customers can't find the product on the page in such places as menu and search BUT I still want the products to be visible when using direct link from bookmarks or google. (since I want it to be hidden until restock but still want in-links to work)

 

Using prestashop 1.5.6

it will be hard to acheive, because if you want to achieve it globally (for whole shop) you have to edit many controllers/modules.

i will show you how to achieve it on category page.

 

in this case it is necessary to modify Category class (classes/Category.php)

you have to additional condition in WHERE clause,

something like 

AND stock.quantity>0 

in this query: (a part of Category.php class)

I will try this and I will be happy as long as it works for the category page and main menu since most people will find the product from these places.

Sorry to bother again, but didn't have time to test this until now. I changed the:

 

.' GROUP BY product_shop.id_product'; 

 

To:

But nothing happens, is there something I'm missing?

This is not working for me either and the idea is exactly what I need.  To hide products in categories, but still allow a direct link.  Has this gotten anywhere?
