How to change background on left and right side and keeping the margin the same

I am trying to add an image in the background and keeping the center white. When I add the jpg it doesn't stretch to fit. So when the window is maximized there is white space on each side. I had previously set this to zero. Also when changing the size of the browser window it changes the image which bleeds into my Left column. I'd like to keep it all fixed regardless of the window browser size. Thank you!
