Getting access to product code in homefeatured

How can I add the product code string into the homefeatured module instead of the product.name?

 

I want to change my taxonomy so that product codes contain the short product title (Colop Printer 30) while my real product titles will contain the full text ( plastic stamp Colop Printer 30 with rectangular print).

 

The long names will however mean my intro page will become messy, and I do not wish to add to much text to it as a person can clearly grasp the product from the image. But long product names are good for SEO, which is what I wish to capitalize with this change.

With Product Code, do you mean the product reference ?

 

If so, back up the file  themes/<your theme folder>/modules/homefeatured/homefeatured.tpl

 

Then edit the file and change all 

    $product.name

into 

    $product.reference

 

That should do the trick...
