c0ckR0ach
Hi,We are in the process of setting up a prestashop site (www.ciberdirect.com/shop) with approx. 3000 products on it. The site is hosted by Hostgator (the 'business' package), when we run the product import it only gets to import 100 or so products before it crashes with a non-descript server error.I have read various posts on forums that this is because the host processor/bandwidth is limited on a shared server and that it is basically 'timing out', can anyone comment on this and if it is the case can anyone suggest what type of hosting package we should be looking for e.g. private/shared/own server/etc. ? and how much (ballpark) would we have to pay for this?ThanksGareth
Jonadabe
Did you tried using your local import and then with phpmyadmin accessing the database and export the table creating a dump file? Then at your server use import with phpmyadmin.Maybe it's better if you try this.If not, you can change to http://www.jaguarpc.com
c0ckR0ach
Hi, thanks for the post I haven't tried to use a locally set up copy of Prestashop no, mainly because I wouldn't know how to set up a server locally on my PC. Is there an easy step by step guide anywhere that you know of ?Gareth
