Trouble getting back to default

Hi.  I'm a very beginner and I'm having trouble with the default theme.  I had it going but then tried to switch to another theme.  When I tried to switch back everything on my site is in different places.  I can't move the modules.  I've tried dragging and dropping.  I've tried going into positions but have no idea what I'm doing.  Do I just need to re-install?  I'll lose quite a bit of work but at this rate my site will never be open for biz.

you have to change positions of the modules manually, or import default theme (for example, export it from fresh installation and then - import it with theme installer)

thanks.  i can't manually change the modules.  sorry to be stupid but where to go i go to export it?  modules?

if you want to manage module positions go to modules > positions

 

if you want to export modules and their settings, you have to install fresh prestashop,

then install this free module: theme installator with this module you can export entire theme, also default one.

so after export you will be able to import it in your modified prestashop.
